Hesketh Estate Phase One

Calculab has handled all Quantity Surveying for Phase One of the Hesketh Estate. A multi-phase residential development in Hayfields, Pietermaritzburg, this first phase of the project comprised 228 walk-up apartments.

One of the challenges presented by the build is the fact that the land upon which the Estate has been built is home to a rare species of dwarf chameleon. The design has therefore incorporated a conduit of orchards, broad-leaf paper bark trees and various KZN hinterland biomes which run through the central area of the development.

Future phases of the Estate include 40 freestanding homes, an onsite shopping centre, play areas, a vintage car square and a Farmer’s Market.
